Privacy notice
Your data on PennyPeeps.
PennyPeeps is operated by Lumon LLC. Effective October 12, 2026. Public handles identify your activity. Legal identity and payment details are never displayed on posts.
What we collect
Your email (we send sign-in links to it), your birth date, your handle, bio and optional country, and, if you sign in with Google or Discord, the account ID and email they share with us. You sign in with Google, Discord or an emailed link; there are no passwords on PennyPeeps.
We ask for your birth date when you join to confirm you are 18 or older and to understand the ages of the people using PennyPeeps. It is private: it never appears on your page, your comments or anywhere public, and only PennyPeeps staff see it, as age groups. It is deleted when you delete your account.
Your posts, replies, Like and Dislike activity, follows, mutes, blocks and reports. Purchase, Penny and earnings records. If you buy Pennies or receive payouts, Stripe collects your card, billing address, identity and bank details; we receive only what we need to match a payment to your account.
We may ask you to verify a mobile number by text to protect reactions and eligibility. Twilio checks that it is a mobile line. We store a one-way fingerprint of the number, not the number itself. We keep that fingerprint after you delete your account so the same number cannot claim the joining Pennies again.
What is public
Your handle, posts, replies and who liked or disliked a comment are visible to everyone. Liking a comment adds your handle to its likers list, and disliking it adds your handle to its dislikers list. Your Pennies balance and earnings are private unless you choose to show your earnings. Your optional country only contributes to regional totals, which appear once enough people in a region have taken part that no one can be singled out.
Where discussions and sides come from
Discussions are started by members or added by the PennyPeeps team, including questions inspired by what people are reading. Comments only come from real people. Comments are grouped into sides automatically by software that compares their text, and you can correct where your comment lands.
Companies that process data for us
Stripe (payments, payouts and identity checks). Supabase (database, sign-in and the text comparison used for sorting posts). Vercel (hosting). Twilio (mobile number checks and verification codes). Amazon Web Services (domain names). Google and Discord (optional sign-in). Google may also group replies into sides in the r/pennypeeps app. We do not use OpenAI. Reddit (hosts the r/pennypeeps app, described below). We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers. We count visits, side picks, sign-ups and shares ourselves, using a random ID stored in your browser (and your account, if you are signed in), to see what works. No other site sees it.
The r/pennypeeps app on Reddit
PennyPeeps runs an app in the r/pennypeeps community on Reddit. People ask a question there, reply in the comments, and the app groups the replies into sides and shows how people split. The app runs on Reddit and keeps its data in Reddit’s own storage. It does not send anything to pennypeeps.com, and nothing you do in it appears on pennypeeps.com.
By default the app groups replies with simple word matching that runs on Reddit. If grouping by Google Gemini is switched on, the app sends the text of new comments on a question, with no usernames or account IDs, to Google’s Gemini service. Gemini returns which side each comment fits and a short neutral name for any new side. We use a paid Gemini plan, under which Google does not use this text to train its models, and we never use Reddit content to train any model. The app uses your Reddit account ID, inside Reddit, to count one pick per person and to limit how often you can ask. When you delete a comment or a question, the app deletes what it stored about it; everything else it keeps about you expires within 30 days. Questions you ask are posted to Reddit under your own username. Reddit’s privacy policy covers everything else you do on Reddit. The app’s own terms and privacy notice are on one page.
Image removal requests
Anyone can ask us to remove an intimate image shared without consent through the image removal form. For each request we keep the name, email address and signature you give, the links and description, and a keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself) to limit abuse of the form. When we remove a picture we keep a fingerprint (hash) of it so the same picture can’t be uploaded again. We use these only to handle the request, prevent re-uploads and keep a record of what we did.
Fraud prevention
We use server-generated hashes of Stripe card and bank fingerprints and a device cookie to detect related accounts, and hashed IP signals where available. These are not public. Shared signals can hold earnings for review.
Cookies
Sign-in cookies keep you logged in and a device cookie supports fraud prevention. There are no advertising cookies.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and remove your posts. You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account from Settings or by writing to support@pennypeeps.com. To protect your account, downloading or deleting from Settings asks you to sign in again if you haven’t in the last ten minutes. Deleting an account removes personal details and anonymizes posts; we keep the financial records the law requires, and deletion waits while a payout or payment dispute is open. Residents of some U.S. states have additional rights to access, correct and delete; use the same address.
Age and location
PennyPeeps is for adults 18 and older in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
