Good conversations make room for another point of view.
Write a comment, then Like or Dislike the comments you read. Reactions show where people agree; they do not decide who is right. Eligible Likes can create provisional author earnings from a limited company budget. Payouts are not open yet.

Should a four-day week be the norm?

A question, a statement, an opinion. The comments people post under it sort themselves into sides, so you can see where people stand. You can post the first comment on your own discussion.

Like a comment you agree with
Choose a Like size from the fixed options. Your handle shows as a liker. If you and the comment qualify and budget is available, Lumon may add provisional earnings at the rate shown before you confirm. You can also Like for 1 Penny and Boost later.
−
Dislike a comment you don’t
Choose a fixed Dislike size. It cancels the matching amount of unlocked Like earnings immediately, newest first; affected Likers get a Penny back, and your handle shows as a Disliker. A size appears only when enough earnings can be cancelled. If there is nothing to cancel, nothing is charged.

Your comments can earn a little
Authors can lock in eligible earnings themselves any time after 24 hours. Until then, a Dislike can still cancel them. Most comments earn little or nothing, the budget can run out, and payout requests are not open yet.
Where do Pennies come from?
You get 100 free Pennies when you join. PennyPeeps also adds promotional Pennies as rewards: 25 for your first comment and 10 for each other comment on a PennyPeeps question (one reward per comment, up to 3 a day), once your phone is verified, and 100 for each friend who joins with your invite link and verifies their phone (up to 10 a month). The invite text says you get Pennies for it. Pennies are non-redeemable units for using PennyPeeps. They are not money, can’t be cashed out or transferred, and buying or spending them is not a payment to an author. Rewards are never taken from another member.
How many comments can I post?
One comment per discussion, so each person’s view counts once. You can edit your comment any time (it shows as edited), and reply in threads as much as you like.
Can I reply to a comment?
Yes, once you’ve reacted to it. Like (1 Penny) or Dislike (2 Pennies) a comment and you can reply anywhere under it, to the comment or to other replies, for free; you can always reply under your own comments. Replies can be liked and disliked just like comments, and their authors earn the same way. Anyone can read the replies.
What does a Boost do?
A Boost steps your own Like or Dislike up one fixed level, and you pay only the difference. Like and Dislike sizes are shown before you confirm; larger Dislikes are only offered when there is enough unlocked earnings to cancel. Boost Pennies change the score; they aren’t a payment to the author. If the author and comment qualify and Lumon’s budget is available, provisional earnings follow the rate shown in the current rules. Top comments are ranked by Pennies that have been in place for at least an hour. You get one change per comment: switch sides, step a Boost down, or undo it. Undo works until the author locks in, and you get back the Pennies for what you undo, except any a Dislike already returned. Undoing a Like within 10 seconds of the “Liked” message is free and doesn’t use your one change, once per comment.
Why does a Dislike cost Pennies?
A Dislike costs 2 Pennies to cancel up to 1¢ of eligible pending earnings. Its cost adds friction to drive-by reactions, and its score does not make a comment true or false. The disliker gets no reward; the original liker gets 1 Penny back if an earning is cancelled.
How exactly do authors earn?
Eligible Likes can create provisional earnings from Lumon’s limited budget; it can run out, and payouts aren’t open yet. A trusted account has a confirmed email and is at least 24 hours old or has verified a mobile phone, with no related-account or ring flag and no admin restriction. The current rate table starts at 1¢ for a 1-Penny Like and goes up to 22¢ for a Like boosted to 25 Pennies. Invited pairs do not create earnings for one another during their first 30 days. Authors lock earnings in themselves after each cent is 24 hours old; until then a Dislike can cancel them. A new account’s Like may remain unqualified for up to 30 days while its trust checks complete.
When payouts open, authors will be able to request one a month once $10 is ready, after setting up payouts through Stripe. Each cent is ready 14 days after its like or 24 hours after it is locked in, whichever is later. Lumon pays these earnings from its own program: fraud and rule violations can reduce them, but a buyer’s refund or chargeback does not. The full rules are in the Author Earnings Program.
